How to make a "business plan" of economical vacation in Scandinavia

This post may be of interest to those who want to get the maximum from rest, but not to spend too much money.

Just a little effort - and your wish will surely come true!

Firstly, it will be good to purchase Schengen Visa health insurance. You can make it easy, if you contact to a reliable insurance company. The price of the health insurance depends on the country where you’re going to, the purpose of your travel, etc. The approximate price is ~ 20 EUR.

Secondly, you should independently fill in the documents required for a Schengen visa and submit them to the place of destination plus paying the visa fee (you can download application forms from the website of the Embassy of the country you plan to visit). The approximate amount of the visa fee is ~ 70 EUR.

Thirdly, it will be useful to consider a budget of your proposed travel and to include in it the above costs plus the costs of transport, accommodation (hostels, cottages, campings), food, shopping. Don’t forget that the cheapest means of transport are trains & ferries, the most economical types of accommodation - hostels and campings

Also, before your trip, try to review websites with useful information for tourists (especially advices about where you can change money at a favorable rate; what travel agencies offer the best services, etc.). In addition to that, find and print out the list of emergency numbers of the country where you’re going to. And try no to lose it in your travel.

What else? Prepare in advance a list of things you're going to buy abroad. Of course, you will save a considerable sum of money if you buy only the necessities of life. Try to buy something only when you realize that life will surely be unbearable without this thing.
Some packing tips. Pack only the necessary minimum of clothes. Otherwise things purchased as a result of shopping will not fit in your bags. For those who are traveling in the summer: coat/ jacket and some light cap are the must, because of the Nordic countries winds. Your shoes should be only comfortable. Sneakers? Excellent! It will be better to buy high heel shoes in Scandinavia and flaunt in them at home.

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money to guide services, you can use language skills of your English-speaking relative or friend. Or it will be good to learn 4-5 simple English phrases plus you can use your gestures and a common sense " everyone will, of course, understand you!

Good luck and a great vacation!
