Working parents in this Nordic country can use long paid parental leave to stay at home with their child or children.
Swedish fathers are actively involved in the lives of their children. I could clearly see this during my Scandinavian travel. I watched one of the Swedish families of the ferry "Silja Line". Father of three kids from 2 up to 6 years old was paying attention to them all the time – he was trying to feed one of the kids, to wipe the face of another and so on. And at the same time mother was talking on the phone and doing some calculations. So, the father was “in captivity”– the typical "Swedish syndrome"!
