In my previous post I explained you what is FinSweNor with colorful photos. So, now let’s turn to the preparatory part of our journey.
All the members of our family decided to go to Norway through Finland and Sweden. Why? Well, who has not heard about the beauty of the fjords? We decided to go in the end of August, to catch a piece of the heat, and at the same time to avoid crowds of tourists.
It was our first independent trip to Scandinavia (before this we used the services of travel agencies).
What documents were necessary?
- Schengen visas in our foreign passports (made out by us in the Norway Visa Application Centre on the main country of residence);
- Railway tickets to Helsinki and back;
- Confirmations of orders of Helsinki-Stockholm ferry tickets (paid in advance);
- Most importantly - the confirmation of the chosen tour "Hardanger in a nutshell” (paid in advance).
Finally, we took with us some disposable cups with handles (for tea and coffee), a set of disposable tableware, a little sugar and caramel, soft condensed milk pack, some tea bags and something of coffee. And, of course, we didn't forget about a first aid kit in case of possible troubles. And, according to the local weather conditions, jackets were necessary too. Some of these things were very useful in our trip!
To my mind, the secret of successful journey includes careful preparation and attention to detail!
