Danish show with birds of prey

First, let's look at some of the participants of Falkonergården show:

American Kestrel. At first glance it seems as inconspicuous bird, but in fact it’s a real bird of prey!

Peregrine falcon. According to Wikipedia, it is the fastest living creature in the world (it can reach speeds of over 322 km / h or 90 m / s)! That one certainly will not catch up.

Lanner falcon. The rocky deserts are the favorite places of its habitat.

You can see these and other impressive birds of prey until the end of October, location – see http://www.falkonergaarden.com/

Some words about Falkonergården. This farm specializing in training hawks for hunting, was founded by Edith Wenzel and Finn Hansen in 1990. Since that time it was visited by over 100 thousand people.

Key factors of Falkonergården success:
  • Detailed knowledge of birds of prey’ instincts;
  •  Good location of the farm - beautiful hilly wooded surroundings of North Zealand;
  •  Awareness of features of falconry. It is banned in Denmark, but only here you can get a visual representation about it. By the way, in 2010, falconry was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists.
