Let me remind you that last time I stopped at the short description of Tikkurila. It is very close to Helsinki.
We arrived in Helsinki in strict accordance with our schedule. Our plan of action in the Finnish capital included the following items: the exchange of money, quick lunch, watching locals and tourists, shopping and taxi transfer to ferry terminal. However, we spent a minute or two to admiring the building of Helsinki Central Station - one of the masterpieces of Finnish architecture, by the way!
The construction of Helsinki Central Station building (project of architect Eliel Saarinen, style - Art Nouveau) was completed in 1914. The station is the "heart" of the Finnish railways – commuter trains and long-distance trains depart from there.
After watching the other passengers, caught in our field of vision , we went on shopping. Especially roam time was not, but we bought some useful and necessary things.
Finally we returned to the station, took our things out of luggage storage and went to sit down in a city taxi. It is, as usual, did not disappoint - we were brought to the ferry terminal. Hence, we said goodbye to Helsinki.
